ESRP Chapter One

Eventually, I decide I should talk to her, so I motion with my head for her to come over.

So much for no attention...

I finsh my glass and grab the bottle and my helm and walk over. I sit down facing him and stare into his eyes, daring him to try something shady.

"Why were you staring at me?"

My face goes deadpan.

"That's it?"

"What else would I have to speak to you about?"

"I don't know, a job offer? its just most people wouldn't take the time to ask something like that.."

Then again this guy probably wasn't most people....

"I want to know why you were staring at me from the moment I walked in. For all I know you're an assassin."

I chuckle and wave my hand at my apparel.

"Do I look like an assassin to you?"

"Mercenaries are often used as assassins."

Thwack.
"Dammit."
Viridel stood to her feet, and walk over tiredly, pulling the bolt out of the side of the tree as she watched the deer gallop off into the bushes. The few hares slung over her shoulder were all she'd managed to get. "Not my best..." She turned around, and head back into the city of Helgen, having arrived there recently to rest.

"I can assure you I'm not assassin..."

I take a sip of my whiskey.

"And why do you think there would be assassin after you?"

"Because I've killed people who have friends with a large amount of money. I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped sending their people to die."

I pause the bottle at my lips, then lean in close to the Nord.

"Well you're talking to the right girl. If you could use someone watching your back while you sleep, then we could arrange something."

"And what makes you think I need a helper?"

I roll my eyes.

"Its better to be protected and not have any trouble, than not being protected and walking into a trap."

I had been aimlessly walking about town for work, I hadn't found any. My race may be to blame...

Gnaeus points south east, and then makes a fist and brings it softly to his chest, near his heart.

"You're going South East to your... Love? Home?"

I looked around a little, lowering my kills, their feet scraping softly against the road. "Where... Ah." I lifted them back up over my shoulder and walked over to the large green creature, walking around somewhat aimlessly. Silly bastard.

Gnaeus nods, and holds up 2 fingers as he gestures toward the woman.

"So, you're heading home then?"

I started to climb onto the cart, which I hoped wouldn't turn out to be a terrible decision, but, this Altmer seemed trustworthy enough.

Gnaeus gives a slow nod.

"Okay."

I finished climbing onto the cart, now next to the Altmer.

"Shall we get started?"

Gnaeus pats Theodore and the horse starts moving forward.

"So, how far away from home are you?"
