ESRP Chapter One

"Well then. Here I was thinking we were bonding."

=I draw my daggers and attack in a single movement.=

=I crouch instinctively, aiming a slash at her shins as I do=

=I see tbe notched arrow and roll backwards, throwing one of my daggers towards her chest as I stand=

=I jump forward, slashing down with the dagger in my hand=

I raise my bow upwards to block his slash.

You really think you can beat an assassin in combat, thief.

"No. But I dont intend to lose any more 'goods' today."

=I pull the dagger down and aim a stab at her ribs=

Just your life i guess.

I step to the side to avoid his stab, feinting to hit out with my bow but drawing an arrow at the same time

Gnaeus had arrived at Helgen. The cart was checked for any illegal goods, and after a small tax he was allowed through the gates. As the rain picked up he brought the cart to a stable, where it would stay over night. He checked in to the Tavern, right nearby, where he would spend the night.

=As the rain picks up, the Wizard activates a Flame Cloak, in hopes that it will burn off the rain before it hits him, and continued on down the road=




=Eventually, the armored one made it far enough down the road to reach the gates of Helgen. He went through basic customs and payed the tax. He went directly to the Inn/Tavern. He walked in the door and looked around a bit, his helmet concealing his entire face, his armor and leather wrappings covering every inch of his body=

=continues walking behind the wizard around 100 or so feet keepin his distance=

As it rained I didn't seem to notice. Just continuing down the road. Eventually the path bends and of course I follow it. Why wouldn't I?

Gnaeus brought the chests of Iron with him when he entered his room, he didn't want to leave the iron out in the rain. It was also a safety measure, he did not want a thief to take it in the night. He left his room, locked, and headed down stairs to the tavern floor.

=He looked across the room and saw an Altmer come down the stairs. He looked him over briefly before turning back to the fire in the middle of the room. He did not remove any of his armor when he went to sit down on a bench at the table on the side of the room opposite the door, and opposite the bar=

I stare across the clearing at the Thief. I could have shot her at any time during the fight, but i had held off. The rain was soaking us through now and the heavy drum beat of it hitting the leaves around us was growing in volume. I shoulder my bow and take out about a quarter of the gold out of my purse. Which was a fair sum. I put it into a small bag and throw it across, landing it at the feet of the other.

I turn and walk off back into the trees. I had to catch up to a certain wizard.

Gnaeus did not look at those around him, occupying the tavern. Not openly. He made note of the patrons in the Tavern, and of the Tavern Wenches. Walking up to the Owner and Bartender, Soline, a Nord woman, he asks quietly "May I have something to drink?"

Soline, being used to his manners, smiled and said sweetly "Sure Gnaeus, anything for you." She gives him a tankard of Mead. Gnaeus smiles and nods in thanks as he takes the Tankard.

=Without looking directly, he continued to observe the Altmer. There was something about him, something... different. He didnt have that same Altmer-pride-to-a-fault that most of them had, and he didnt seem like he was so ready to point out to everyone how superior his race was. Silently, he watched, intrigued...=

There's something different about this one...

Gnaeus walked from the bar, with the tankard, and walked to the kitchen, where he would sit. He did not wish for any of the locals to become angry. The Thalmor, an Altmer political group, did many things to the nords, few if any of them very nice. It was not that he feared violence, it was that he did not wish to be apart of it. Nords were rowdy folk, they brawled for fun, Gnaeus was a big mer, he would appear a worthy challenge.

=After a few minutes, a group of especially rowdy Nords came into the tavern. They and their friends began mingling with the others. One in particular began telling a story of how he attacked a group of Altmer he thought were Thalmor on the roads and slew them all. He laughed, and said he caught them off-guard, as none were wearing armor or had their weapons. The Armored One stood and went over to that one Nord, having heard enough. He spoke in a monotone voice=

?- I've had about enough of you bragging over your murders. They were probably civilians.

=The Nord looked angry=

N- No Altmer are 'Civilians' of Skyrim! They are oppressors, not Citizens!

?- Why don't you fight a real warrior. See how you fare.

N- Hahaha! You think you can take me, you... What are you, anyway?

?- None of your concern. Do you challenge me?

N- Of course!

=The Nord stood, and got his fists up. He took a swing at the Armored one, a heavy swing at that. He just barely dodged it, and delivered a strong blow to the Nord's stomach area. He dropped to the floor and coughed. The Armored One nodded as a subtle sign of victory, not one to boast=

?- Now, go back to your drinks and reconsider your stance on other races.

=He turned to walk away, but the Nord drew a steel dagger. He stood and stabbed the Armored one full-force in the chest, under his arm. He shouted, and grabbed the dagger, yanking it out and tossing it to the floor. He bled, rather profusely, his attempts to quell the bleeding via pressure not helping much. He dropped to his knees with an audible clank of steel=

=picks up his pace slightly closing the gap between him and the wizard=

Soline enteres the kitchen, in a hurried manner. "Gnaeus, someone's been stabbed!" Knowing the she would only come to him if the matter was serious, he stood from his seat. Gnaeus entered the main-hall, as Soline asked, and noticed the Nord presence immediately. He could only guess who was injured.
