ESRP Chapter One

That....Really didn't answer my question.

In my head i do some quick estimates. It was easily a three or four day walk. I didn't have enough food with me and i was loathe to use my arrows on beasts.

So here's where I left off. I just got back from killing these bandits for some guy and I'm heading back too Riverwood to collect my reward.
He's a miller of some sort. I don't care, I'm getting 100 gold coins! For such a petty task... I should stop writing and head out.

I closed the book and stood up from the rock I was sitting on. I started walking back to Riverwood using the road.

Well, assuming we coninue at this pace, anywhere from two weeks to a month would be my guess.

We could take a coach from Whiterun? It's a days walk from here and would speed our journey up much faster.

Plus i had more than enough gold and it didn't look like i'd get to spend it anytime soon

We could, but that would defeat adventure, would it not? Also, coaches are much easier targets on the roads than a few travelers. Thieves see a Coach and assume the people aboard have a good amount of coin, and probably some other valuables they do not wish to carry.

=They neared the outskirts of Embershard Mine on the road=

Adventure is boring. Plus any thief to attack us would be easily slain. An assassin, a Mage and a Companion? I'd love to meet the thief foolish enough to ambush us.

=notices they're near the mine and wonders how well it's doing=

The road proves to be boring. No bandits or anything. So that means it clear. But soon it'll have baddies.
Once I get to Riverwood I head io to the mill immediately. Telling the person there that the bandits are cleared and the way should be safe.
They hand me my money and I walked away.

There are more than common thieves on these roads, Assassin, and not all are so easily defeated. You would be surprised at what can be found along the trails.

=Up ahead, a voice could be heard singing a sad song, but it's body could not yet be seen, as they were just around the bend. Whoever it was, they sounded serious=

"Like Fire, Hellfire, that smolders in my skin. Gods spare me, damnation, and lend me holy strength."

=I remove the arrow from my back, it didn't even get through my clothing.=

Bastards... stole my stolen circlet...

=I see a group, three of them. I start thinking of a way to earn a few 'ill gotten gains'.=

Warrior... He looks tough. High elf. Probably a mage. And a Dunmer. She looks lightly armoured... she could probably keep up with me... If I lure her away... Maybe I could get a few valuables... Or maybe pass her on the road and take what I need... That coin purse is looking quite heavy...

=With my target in mind, I follow them quietly from the safety of the trees.=

I half dance along the road, showing off my athleticism.

And yet you make us walk. We would be more vulnerable in the open i would think and the longer we take to get there, the more chance anything we could find shall be gone whether it be by natural or other means.

Our mission is not entirely 'there', miss dunmer. We are to investigate all we can on the entire way there. Surely taking our time to do so would yield the greatest amount of information, no?

We could at least get across the border by cart. I doubt any tracks would lead as far North as Skyrim.

=The wizard sighed, and then smirked at a humorous thought=

If you like, I can conjure an Atronach to carry us across the boarder.



=Only slightly louder now was the voice singing around the bend of the road=

Anything where i don't have to walk. I hate walking.

This technically wasn't true. I'd had to do mostly walking to get around for my life and sometimes there was nothing better than just strolling along. But i was being really, really lazy.

Cocius, ignoring their squabble, continued walking. He gripped the handles of his axes, prepared for what awaits him and his party.

The road to the Ironhand's estate was long, they lived near the border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim, the trip would take about a day to get there, without interference. Storm clouds were rolling in over the mountains in the distance, hopefully he could make it to the esate before the storm hit.

Off topic. Are we taking a carriage or not?

I sit down on an over-turned log next to the path while i wait for an answer

Nope.
