| After the young Nord fled, I stepped into the Miner's Barracks. to write two letters. One to Sven Ironhand and one to Nicholas the Enchanter. A Nord Merchant and a Breton Mage. To Sven, I wrote: - Spoiler:
"Dear Master Sven,
Before we continue mining deeper into Embershard Mine we need to construct more beams to prevent cave-ins. I request that we utilize the nearby town of Riverwood. As you know, it has a wood-mill from which we can gather wood. I recall you saying something about a discount for cutting and gathering our own wood through the usage of the mill.
The mine has been doing well. Yesterday alone we have gather more than a twenty ingots worth of iron. I've already smelted them and am preparing them to be delivered to Froki. the new miners should be in sometime today, so I shall be bringing the iron we've gathered this past week by carriage.
I've sent word to Riverwoods' Jarl for more security along the road. I'm not sure if he received it, for the security has been as scarce as ever. The Guards you sent to the mine have not shown up, I pray to the Eight that they show up soon, Bandits have been getting bolder as of late.
I am doing well, of course. The mine has kept me busy, the locals still gossip about me. Though, from what the Nords say, the ones I work with now, some of it is kind and some of it is not.
Your Friend, Gnaeus
To Nicholas the Enchanter: - Spoiler:
"Dear Master Nicholas,
I have done as you instructed. It worked, the soul gems are all filled with greater souls from noble beasts. I hope these white souls serve you well in your research. I have been keeping myself busy, as usual, in the mine. I'm including the soul gems in a parcel along with the letter, I hope they all make it to you intact. I look forward to seeing you again, and your next letter.
Your Friend, G.M.I
I sealed both of these letters and picked up the bag of soul gems I had promised the Breton. I got up from the desk and left the Miner's Barracks. I caught a courier on his way south and gave him the letters, I paid him more then enough. He said he would deliver them as fast as he could. Sven was the closest, so he was going to go there first. After he was out of sight, I went back to the Miner's Barracks to get the iron we've gathered from the mine. I lifted one of crates filled with iron, and brought it to the wagon I would be taking up to the Ironhands' Estate. The Smithy was detached from the estate, but they were on the same grounds.

| Rolaf came walking through the door and placed a knapsack down on the table in front of me. I yawned and flicked the hood open, my eyes lifting in surprise.
You did well. I wouldn't have thought Riverwood had this many poisons. This covers the whole favour. Thank you.
He simply nods and opens the door for me to walk out. I meander my way back up the street, where the group is waiting for me.
I thought you would have carried on.

I decided to see if you would be serious in accompanying us on this mission.

| I'm paid to keep you alive. It's no choice really. I couldn't care less about you or your group. I just care about my reputation. | |

| I don't ask and they don't tell. And I'm to keep you alive, and here's the exact quote for you, "Until you are meant to die".
I gave a short laugh
Mysterious. But not for me to question.

| Nothing was ever stopping you in the first place.
I slide an apple out of my pocket and begin eating that as we set off.

| When I finished loading the cart I took a swig of water, from a nearby tankard. I downed its contents quickly and set the tankard down on a nearby barrel. I tied the horse up to the wagon, and then set off to the Ironhands' estate. By Carriage it would take at least the whole day to get there. As long as the roads were free of bandits and people in need of aid.
(the wagon is going the same speed as the wagon in the Introduction to Skyrim.)

| =I eventually find the road again, so I follow it, walking slowly, trying to avoid suspicion. I feel as if I'm being watched, so I pick up the pace.
I hear the footsteps, so I begin to run.
I hear a bow twang, and feel an arrow pierce my back.
I stumble, reaching for my daggers. I turn and come face to face with four bandits, Armed with a War Hammer, Mace, Bow and Sword.
Despite the arrow in my back, I spin, swinging a dagger into the chest of the swordsman. I turn to face another, but see the head of the hammer hit me, knocking me out cold.=

| Enough talk. We've wasted enough time.
Cocius tightened the straps on his armor, and stood by.

| Cocius followed the wizard down the path, watching warily as he made his idle conversation.
What's it like, depending on that sorcery?

How is it to depend on a sword and armor?

| I walk behind the two of them, uninterested in the conversation. I finish the apple and lazily flick it into the stream as we pass by the gates. I begin to hum a tune to myself

| Simple. They are extensions of my body. But you.. Is it not strange to rely on powers like that? | |

| From my point of view, my Magicka is a part of my body, not some tool of Steel or Glass that can be taken away. Your weapons are much more foreign a concept to me than Magic is to you. | |

So...How long is this walk?

| How long did it take, wizard? To master the art of magic? Was it natural to you? | |

| =He looked over at the assassin=
We're heading to the boarder of Cyrodil and Hammerfell, just north of Kavatch.
=He then turns to the warrior=
As an Altmer, it did to an extent. But, to truly master the arcane arts takes years and years of training, practice, and discipline.
