Chapter 1 part 2

"Yeah. Let's get... this over with. I don't like... being here anymore then... we should."

I push off against the wall with a grunt and go over to the last remaining rope. Then grab a hold of it.

(Arrun)
Whoever told you that is an idiot. Sleep is wonderful for you, as long you don't get addicted to it.

(Nerim)
=i grab the rope and start pulling=
Pull! Get this...damn thing....open!

(Arrun)
=i climb out of bed=
Yeah, no you won't.

I pull on the rope with everything I have. It seems like this last rope is the hardest one yet.

(Nerim)
=i grab the rope and pull as hard as I can. My arms burn in protest, but I block the pain out for a moment. The gate rises, and I pull harder, feeling the subtle vibrations of the internal mechanisms. Finally, we get the gate up, with a big, click-thud. I let go of the rope and fall over, exhausted=

After the gate went up and clicked, I slumped against the wall. I want my arms to go numb they burn so much.

"Damn... that hurt..."

=Xazhi laughed quietly to himself, watching the two Romanii fight=

X- Lii'kyerii Arahl'ev, ohn Derehn?

=They shared a laugh together. Dyskt readied four bowls and four spoons, and went back to the hearth, where the source of the smell became aparent. It was some brew in a black kettle that the Skarrn had been cooking up=

=i just lay there, panting=
Ye...yeah...hah...ow

(Arrun)
Well, did it once, haven't done anything yet. So...

=i look around=
So what all did I miss?

=Xazhi shrugged=

X- Nothing as far as I can tell.

(Arrun)
Oh, sweet. So that was time well spent then.

=i stretch=

=Xazhi looked at Dyskt, who was now pouring the sludgy soup into the bowls=

X- What are you doing there?

=Dyskt spoke as he poured=

D- Stew. Will help you survive down here.

(Arrun)
Stew? What's it made from?

I bounce off the wall again and turn to Nerim. My body aches from soreness. All I want now is to leave.

"What say we go get these swords now and get out of here?"

=Dyskt handed a bowl to Xazhi, and one to Arrun. He took a third bowl for himself, and left the fourth for Aeris=

D- Made of food, with some medicine. Eat. Will help against the plagues. Overworlders weak to disease.

=Xazhi looked at the mush with a certain disgusted curiosity. He slowly took a spoonful and ate it, realizing that it tasted a lot better than it smelled. Dyskt began eating as well. Though the medicine inside would do nothing to the Skarrn, as his people were already immune or resistant to most of the plagues of the underworld, it was still food. Xazhi looked over at Arrun=

X- It's really not as bad as you think.

(Nerim)
=i get up and nod, smiling weakly=
Yeah, let's get these things.

=i walk over, as fast as I can, towards the swords=

(Arrun)
It smells like sickness.

=Dyskt looked up at Arrun=

D- Better smells than plagues feel. You want Black-marble Beadblood? Or Yellowtear?

=Xazhi shrugged and continued to eat the noxious-smelling muck=

(Arrun)
=i shrug, not knowing what he meant=
Whichever is sweeter, I guess.

=Dyskt laughed a little=

D- Your choice, you want thick pus swell your eyeballs or black goo in veins.

=He laughed again. Xazhi set down his now empty bowl beside him=

=i look at the creature confused=

I fast-walk over to the swords' holding pedestal type thing and go to grab them. My arms may be hurting tremendously but my legs have never felt better.
