Chapter 1 part 2

I continue forward into the room, spear readied. I find myself in a narrow room of sorts with rope here and there. I can see Nerim from here.
And there looks like there's gates in his- Whoa! The swords are right there!

"Yeah! I have some rope here, why?"

I think we have another puzzle on our hands. Open up our gates and then the ones leading to the swords.

=i grab a random rope and pull=
Hey! You seeing if anything is happening on your end?

=the rope feels loose, but not quite like it wasn't attached to anything, just like there was very little tension=

=Dyskt stands and turns around, opening a compartment of sorts behind the couch he sat on. Araedyr stood too and helped him. They both slid out what seemed to be a sort of top bunk bed, which hung about four feet above the couch. They then ducked down to beneath the couch and unhooked a metal latch, then pulled the front of it out, making the couch a flat surface, which formed the bottom of the two bunks. Dyskt turned back to the visitors=

D- Where you sit also does this.

=i follow along with Aeris, helping him repeat the Skarn's actions=

=Araedyr turns to Dsykt and speaks in the Skarrn language=

A- Ktt'skt ts nk t't.

D- Ks't tk sk't.

=They exchange gestures before Araedyr turns to the trio from the overworld=

A- The hour is late, and my family will be expecting me soon. I must take my leave for the evening.

=He nods to them and turns towards the door, leaving the small home and heading down the street towards his own dwelling. Dyskt climbs onto the bottom bunk of the set he and Araedyr pulled out and watches the hearthfire burn. Xazhi climbs onto the top one without a word=

(Arrun)
=i climb up onto the top bunk of the bed that came out, but didn't bother to look around for a pillow=

-Hey, Arma. Keep an ear out for anything, okay? Don't want any uninvited guests-

--Okay, I'll keep listening for anything.--

I notice that one of my ropes moved when Nerim pulled on one of his. I run over to it and grab a hold, just to see what would happen.

(Nerim)
=the rope suddenly went taught and I pulled harder. One of the gates rustled a little bit=
Hey! Pull on that rope harder! I think this is how we open these gates.

I nearly slammed against the wall when the rope was pulled from me. But I shake it off and pull harder on the rope.

(Nerim)
Shit, sorry!

=we pull on the rope and the gate lifts up. Three more to go. I hear a loud slam of something as the gate hits the top=
Okay! Three more! Pull on one of yours, see which one of mine it is.

"Yeah... okay... okay!"

I walk over to another rope and yank on it. I nearly fall over from the force I use to pull it, a little too much slack then I thought.

(Nerim)
=i grab the rope before it disappears and start pulling on it. One of the other gates, the one near Jisr starts to move==
Keep pulling! It's working!

I tug and pull the rope. Which eventually opens the gate near me. And my arms were about to give out again too.

"On to... the next one?"

I go over to another rope and tug on it lightly in hopes I don't fall on my arse before this is over.

==Timeskip of 9 hours for the characters involved with the Skarrn==

=Xazhi woke up to find Dyskt tending the hearth. Something smelled a bit foul, yet familliar. There was a strong scent of spice in the air=

=i grab the rope that moved, and start pulling on it just like before. My muscles burned in pain, but I did my best to ignore them. Had to push through, had to overcome and get this done. Couldn't stop, had to do it=

"Arrrgh!"

My arms beg me to stop but of course I don't. That would mean Nerim hurting himself, which would be pretty funny. But also really mean. So I just continue pulling the rope.

(Nerim)
=we get the gate open and stop for a second=
Hold up...my arms...are killing me...

=hey, i got through that rope, i never meant get the whole thing done=

(Arrun)
=i woke up to something a bit strong smelling. I opened my eyes and looked around, trying to find the source=

=had woken up half an hour earlier and spent the time just lying there talking with aurora and noticis arrun waking up=

bout time you woke up dude

"Yeah... mine too."

I move over to the wall the ropes were coming from and lean against it. My arms are practically on fire. I want to just quick and go home... but I have no home...

(Nerim)
=i looked at Jisr, nothing between us except for dusty air. One more gate was left until we could get at the swords=
Ugh...gods...whoever made this...didn't want anyone...getting these things...easily, huh?

"Not unless... they thought we'd be... bigger."

I let out a small laugh. I don't know why, it wasn't even a joke.

(Nerim)
Heh...heh....yeah...

(Arrun)
=i grunted=
I get my sleep where I can. So sue me.

I let my arms rest against the wall. Just let them hang there. And I try to slow my breathing down. That helps... right?

(Nerim)
Huh..huh...wanna get this last one done now?
