Chapter 1 part 2

=i grab his wrist and push it away before the blade could hit my thigh, and I pull my arm back and shove his shoulders, pushing him away from me=

I sheathe my blades and carry on walking.

You choose them.

I choose to help you realize how hypocritical you are.

If that means you are coming with, then start walking. If not, then turn around.

I change my direction slightly, aiming for the top of a large hill.

=i sigh=
Then you are as bad as our races. You keep a fight going because the other side keeps doing atrocities, or other acts against you.

=i turn and start walking back=

I stop.

My race has been hunted to near genocide by your race, the humans and the Py'ver. We have been slandered and put down for centuries. And yet those things have the....Guts. To refer to you as the "Great Races"?

I spit in disgust.

If we are as bad as you, then it is only you that can be blamed. Your actions made us as we are. As for those filth. They can rot and die in a hole for all i now care. I chose my words carefully. Maybe they should have done the same.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that it wasn’t sunlight that woke me up, it was my body-clock, I had assumed sunlight woke me up as that is what I’m used to, growing up in Se’bahn. Deepwood had large trees, larger than I’d ever seen. You could build a house inside the tree and still have spare room. Light didn’t penetrate the upper canopy, it was dark, but my eye’s had adjusted accordingly.

After an hour or so of walking around the forest, and feeling sorely lost, I found something to eat, herbs, mostly. I harvested what I could without killing the plant and moved on to look for the next plant. My journey for food was peaceful enough. I startled rabbits and the occasional fox, but didn’t see much else. I ate what I gathered when I gathered it, so after I while I was satisfied. I was also thoroughly lost.

I spent the whole day walking through the forest in constant awe. Deepwood held this dark beauty about it. The trees were magnificent, in both size and splendor, I daresay you could have fit one or two families inside the trunk of one. The branches stretched so far out that they overlapped and form a dense canopy, blocking out nearly all of the light, which was probably why their wasn’t much lower plant life. The few plants that did grow had the most bizarre adaptations, stalks that coiled around the trees to breach the canopy, or lived off of other plants through parasitism. My alchemist’s appreciation was taking over my thoughts. As I traversed the dense woods my mind became absorbed in the wildwoods. I began notice more and more, from the true diversity of plantlife, to the various creatures that hopped, scurried, slithered, darted, dashed, scuttled, scampered, scooted, bounded, dawdled, ran, or otherwise actuated through Deepwood.

As the day drew to it’s conclusion I knew not where I was within the binds of Deepwood. I knew I was somewhere west of where I started, but without the sun to tell, I was uncertain. Maybe I had gone in circles, maybe I did not. I found a comfortable place to sleep through the night, it was at the base of a tree, it seemed to be a good spot. As I fell into slumber I heard a faint rustling of leaves, but I paid it no mind as I was at rest and my heart was sure.

And you would simply leave, without giving them a chance to fix their mistake? You would let them continue to believe you are nothing? Where is your pride that you would not show how great your race is?

=Xazhi turned to Dyskt=

X- You said earlier something about the Great Races. What did you mean by that?

D- Hkk! There Five Great Races of world. Humans, Romanii, Revaer, Sek'ishk, Cubi. Then there two Lesser races, Rohgedyn, and we Skarrn. I explain more once inside.

The survival of our race against all of yours should be enough. We do not need to prove ourselves to those who think us unfit.

I continue walking again

There is a difference between arrogance, and pride. You should learn that difference before someone teaches you the difference.

=i resume my walk back to the others=

D- Ak! Your friend-kin returns, but without Rohgedyn.

=i pull the mask down over my face as I get closer, so I don't get killed or whatever by the air. I turn to the...whatever it was=
He's being arrogant. Saying you insulted his race by calling us Great and his not.

D- Such is expected of Rohgedyn-born. They proud too much. They one of Two lesser races, whether liked or not.

=The ratman coughed=

=i look at the others=
Did I miss something while I was out there?

=Xazhi turns to Arrun=

X- He said he'd explain everything once we're inside. So, I guess whatever you did miss, you'll hear when we get down there?

D- Yesyes. Now follow.

=Dyskt walked a down the tunnel towards the blackness=

=Xazhi follows them into the tunnel as well. Soon enough it becomes dark as the void, darker than Deepwood itself. Luckily, the leader of the group lit a torch and continued to lead=

D- We approach.

We approach what?

=i struggle to make out our surroundings, even with the torch=

D- Gates to the Empire, and city beyond. First we come to Gate, then military outpost. We go through Customs first, then proceed.

=They continue to walk. Xazhi admires the precision in the digging of the tunnels, perfectly circular, save for the flat floor.

D- We let Overworld believe what it will. They want think Humans most advanced? Fine.
