Chapter 1: A World in Ruins

=I watch as my squad searches over the battle carnage and turn to the Elite Soldier=

Sorry, Sir. We will handle the aftermath.

=I follow my squad as they check out the scorched tanks=

(So... This post is... Late. I know. And if you want to delete for being late, that is fine.)

(Just after the gas had hit (Like seconds after, you get it, a short time) (So, while Garth was getting into his Tank, and before Brandon (Anog) and his squad arrived)

=I heard... Jack shout gas. Those were his last words. Before he was... Shot. There was a brief pause of noise inside the tank... Before Jack's body was shoved out his hatch... You see, in times like these when people died. There was no long moment of silence... They just died. And were dead. And the living had to carry on. Will had pushed his body out. Closed his hatch, and the gunner hatch. Was it really that simple? To push someone who'd you fought with's body out of a hatch? I didn't know... And there was... A lot of decrease in sound from the outside. I stopped firing, and the Tank fell silent. I hoped now that the hatches were closed... It would keep some of the gas out...=

(So, if this post is kept, then I'm back up to speed. So Brandon and his squad would be checking the scorched tanks, and I'm not dead.)

=I looked out the small window, and knew there was no way to get out of this. Not without calling for help, and I couldn't do that. I looked at one of the men and whispered=

Son, I need you to call HQ and tell them to start raining frags down here. Gas is a no go, they've got masks. Got it?

=he nodded, unsure, but he started up the radio and stated calling command. I hoped that they get the shells loaded in time, otherwise we might just all die, and this operation be a bust=

=I look through the little optic near the tank's driver area, I see a body in there, I knock on the glass to see if I get a reaction=

=I freeze, as does everyone else. We don't want to be spotted, and we all hope that they see us as simply dead, not just hiding. Nobody moves, and the person on the radio goes into a whisper=

Go away! Move! We're dead! We're DEAD!

=The gas mask inpairs my vision and all I see is the dead guy=

I think it's clear!

=I mantle over the tank and move on to the next one=

=we all let out a collective sigh and go back to waiting for the reply from command=

"Sir! They'll be able to launch the rounds in a few minutes. We just need to hold out for now."

=I nod, trying to ignore the pain from my legs. Being in a cramped position isn't the greatest for your legs, even if you aren't wounded=

=I sift my way through the dead people and the tall grass=

=I hear gun shots ringing out to those Allies lucky enough to find a mask in time to stay alive=

Daniel (Whispering... Of course...): Are they gone yet?

Ethan: I don't know... This stupid tank has no side windows... So I can't see a thing.

Will: Do you reckon anyone else made it?

Ethan: Once again... I don't know. Just stay quiet... And don't move.

=Silence once again, fell in the tank.=

=We reach a tank destroyer=

Peel the hatches open!

=One of the soldier's starts to unlock the hatch=

=The hatches... Were moving. Shit. Shit. And even more fucking shit. Nobody moved. We had to act dead. Dead as dead could be. Easy, right?=

=The hatch opens and a soldier looks down=

They look dead!

=I hop up onto the tank and looked down the hatch=

Something isn't right... these are Frontline Infantry uniforms...

=They were looking down on us... We still had to act dead. They must've had the entire Empire out there... Or, I guessed anyway. We just sat there. Not moving. Not making a sound. It was... Boring.=

=I turn to one of my guys and I make a 'shhh' gesture and I pull out my knife=

=I give him the knife and make a 'strangle' command=

=We had to do something. Even if the entire Empire was outside. But what could we do? There were guys just above the hatch Will was sitting under... But... What the fuck could we do? Unless... We could... Start the Tank up... I twisted my hand in the direction of Ethan who.. Im guessing saw it. Ethan then began a... Very slow attempt at trying to start the Tank.=

=We nodded to eachother and looked back down into the hatch=

=The soldier tryed to slowly move down into the tank as he saw something move=

=They were trying to get into the tank. It was going to be a tight squeeze... Will, who was behind the man who was trying to climb in, began to pull outs his knife... Which made a slight shine... Ethan carried on trying to start the tank... And I... I just sat there.=

=The soldier shot back up=

They're on to us!

=I load a bullet into the chamber along with everyone else=

Daniel: Reverse! Reverse!

=Ethan hit the Tank into reverse, and it started going backwards... At a... Average speed.=

=I grabbed onto the mounted machine gun ammo box as the rest of my squad jumped off=

COVER ME!

=I pull a Grenade out of my boot=

Ethan: Someones still up there!

Will: I'll get him off! Just drive!

=Will started climbing out the hatch, in attempt to get rid of the hitchiker.=

Daniel: This isn't going to end well...

=I begin to unscrew the cap of the grenade and I see someone pop up=

SHIT!

=I reactively hit him in the face with the iron part of the potatomasher=

Will: Fuck!

=Will fell back, but got straight back up. He attempted to grab the German soldier.=

Will: Get the fuck off my Tank!

Ethan: It's my Tank!

Daniel: Shut up Ethan.

=He pushes me off and the grenade falls off the side of the tank I scramble up and run away as the grenades explodes=

=I fall to the ground, draw my pistol and start firing at the tank=

=Two of the soldiers shots hit Will, and he tumbles into the Tank.=

Ethan: Shit! Is he okay!?

Daniel: I don't god damn know! Just run that fucker over!

=The Tank carries on in the direction... That Ethan thinks the Soldier ran. Which probably was the wrong Direction...=
